Tried everything. Bought the vorpx beta last night. Windows 10, nvidia titan X. Installed vorpx, restarted my computer. Disabling all apps running in my taskbar. Restarting steam VR, restarting my computer, restarting vorpx, running everything as administrator, steam VR direct mode vs not direct mode.
Creating a shortcut via taskbar vorpx icon to fallout 4 downloaded through steam. Everytime I try to run it I just get a black screen. Vorpx desktop mode does not work at all. I once received a white screen with multiple color lines, almost like 2 rainbow colored barcodes.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I have created a vorpx troubleshoot. Do you want me to send it to you? Just tried this again and figured out that with Direct Mode off in steam vr, I am able to get the solid red screen again.
I also get this error in steam vr:. Compositor is not fullscreen. I click the link and nothing happens. The headset has to be in direct mode. I just replied to the support email. Thanks for your help. If steam is running in admin mode then so must Vorpx. I had the same problem and now all is working. I have the same problem. The problem was that when I launched SteamVR It would show me a red screen and tell me I have to enable direct display mode - I click okay, it restarts and it starts again the exact same way it did before, it says the same thing and gives me the option, it never actually enables direct mode. HTC Vive not working at all for me either. Tried everything.
As I do receive the frames in my driver and there is nothing being rendered to the desktop. It therefore shouldn't give any warnings in this regard. The Oculus driver doesn't show this warning, so there must be flag to set in the driver to avoid the warning, but I haven't found it. TheDeveloperGuy my thoughts exactly. I was wondering if the DirectMode can be enabled with the Oculus runtime since there is a physical headset present on the system and its edid is whitelisted by the NVIDIA driver.
My only concern is that OpenVR will perform worse since it thinks it is in "extended mode" e. It has nothing to do with your display driver's "direct" mode.
You have to emulate this in your fake driver. Somewhere in the real Oculus OpenVR driver it sets something which disables this warning who knows what it is? OpenVR doesn't know anything about the screen mode, monitor ID etc.Dahej list pdf

The IVRDriverDirectModeComponent also allows more flexibility when it comes to composing the final image that gets sent to the headset image rotation, scan-line interleaving etc. I have DirectMode working in a custom app but am trying to get it working in OpenVR using there compositor. Set the EDID properties properly. The vrmonitor says my HMD is there but not ready. My Edid looks like the values shown.
IsDisplayRealDisplay should return trueas you've done. IsDisplayOnDesktop should return true when the display is in extended mode and false when it's in direct mode or if you're using your own direct-mode implementation instead of SteamVR's.
